Forums FT.com Community is organized into Forums. A Forum is organized around a particular subject or theme, like "Technology" or "Tax Laws"." Each Forum's Host maintains the Forum, facilitates discussions, and helps new users.
Discussions Each Forum has several Discussions. Discussions are the conversations within a Forum. You can enter a Response to participate in any Discussion. The responses are listed sequentially by date and time of entry, with most recent responses listed last. Post a response at the bottom of the Discussion page. Reading Discussions
To enter a Discussion, click on its name in a Forum. You will then see the most recent responses in that Discussion.
Navigating Responses Navigate through Responses either by scrolling links or the Jump Box.
Scrolling Links Just above the first displayed response in a Discussion, there are scrolling links pointing to earlier responses in the Discussion:
| Previous [number] shows a specified number of responses previous to the current response (e.g., Previous 100 Responses). |
| First [number] shows the first responses in a discussion, up until a specified number. (e.g., First 20 Responses) |
| All shows every response that has been posted. |
At the bottom of the page, there is a different set of scrolling links:
| Next [number] displays the next specified number of responses after the last response on the page. |
| Last [number] displays the last responses in a Discussion. |
| All displays all the responses that have been posted. |
Jump Box To use the Jump Box, enter the number or series of numbers (e.g. responses 15-34) of the responses you want to view. Click "Jump!" to go to the first specified response.
Responses How to post a response
| Scroll to the bottom of a Discussion to the "Post a Response" area. |
| Type the text of your Response in the "Your Response" box. |
| Type a subject in the "Subject" box. This is optional. |
| Click "Spellcheck" to check the spelling in your Response. |
| When you are satisfied with the Response, hit the "Post" button. |
Rules and Behavior Policies Just like any community, the FT.com online Community maintains a few rules.
| Do not harass, threaten or abuse other members. Disagreement, of course, is fine; but be polite. |
| Obscene messages are prohibited. |
| Stay on topic in discussions. |
| Refrain from posting copyrighted content. |
| Be sure to avoid posting identifying information, such as addresses or phone numbers. If you decide you want to exchange this information, do so via E-mail. |
| Impersonating other community members or anyone other than you is prohibited. |
| Unsolicited advertising or multiple messages (spam) is prohibited. |
