Wall Street shrugs off US jobs data

US equity markets made tentative gains on Thursday but only pared losses for the week after shrugging off data showing that the US shed jobs for a sixth straight month in June and the services sector contracted unexpectedly.

According to the US Department of Labor, 62,000 jobs were eliminated last month, largely in line with analysts’ expectations.
